Report: New York Sports Gambling Over $1 Billion in September

New York State sports betting handle surpassed the $1 billion mark in September, the first time in three months, according to a report in the Legal Sports Report.

The $1,26 billion September handle helped sports betting operators combine for a monthly record of $143 million in gross gaming revenue. The highly bet September month meant a $73 million tax windfall, a monthly best and all-time US record, the website reported.

During July and August, the previous two months when bets dipped below one billion dollars, the total combined handlers were $800 million and $872 million respectively. This was the first time New York State dropped below the billion dollar mark since January, the sports wagering website reports.
