Latest Data: Job Openings & Hiring Decreased Across the US

The number of job openings decreased in more states than they increased, as did the number of hires across the US, according to the most recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

On the last day of November, the most recent tracked data, four states had fewer job openings, while just two states had more job openings from the previous month of tracking. Additionally, the hire rate decreased in five states while it increased in just one, the report shows.

The states with fewer job openings in November included Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. States that saw an increase were Illinois and Colorado.
