Report: Inflation Still Top Concern for Small Businesses

Fifty-four percent of small businesses across the U.S. cite inflation as their ongoing biggest concern, according to new data from the Metlife, US Chamber of Commerce Small Business Index.

The data released this week shows the concern over inflation to be higher than that of supply chain issues, revenue, interest rates, and employee retention. This is the fifth straight quarter inflation remained the top fear, the report states.

"The weather is a little better than last week's thunderstorm of anxiety that America would default on its debt. The sun is trying to break through, especially since there were three Supreme Court decisions in the past 10 days that curb federal regulatory overreach. It is still mostly cloudy because of high inflation and a worker shortage on Main Street," the report notes.
