Payroll Employment Up, Unemployment Down for the Month of June: Report

Payroll employment and the unemployment rate nationwide continue to remain steady, according to the latest information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The total number of nonfarm payroll employment grew by more than 200,000 in the month of June, while the unemployment rate changed "little' to 3.6%, the report states. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics uses two key surveys to support their data, a household survey and an establishment survey that measures nonfarm employment, hours, and earnings by industry.

In June, the labor force participation rate was 63% for the fourth consecutive
