$8.5 Million for Companies to Commercialize Climate Technologies


Governor Kathy Hochul announced Friday, $8.5 million in state funds for companies commercializing new climate technologies. The money is part of the "ClimateTech Growth Platform", a new program to support companies commercializing technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the state, a press release from Governor Hochul's office states.


The program will provide an array of resources for entrepreneurs scaling building, transportation, electric grid, or industrial products or services that have reached the pre-commercialization or growth stage, the release stated.


The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) will administer the program which will provide $5.95 million to be allocated for direct services and up to $2 million to be allocated to future competitive grants.


NYSERDA is accepting applications from qualified companies through November 15.
